It was an awesome 4 days of FusionHQ training dubbed “FusionDojo” in Chiang Mai – this back end web site software (and that description is a complete understatement of what this software can do) is really awesome and incredibly powerful – but gee my head hurts. FusionHQ founder and owner Leon Jay put us through the wringer – in teams of 6 create an on-line business in 2 evenings, so at the end of it he can pull our project apart and tell us what we did wrong.
Long story short we were awesome. Our team F for Fuji for a moment stood for Failure instead – rather than submit the workbook as our business plan we did a full on business plan in word – and I got the submission email address wrong. But all of our hard work paid off and, in Leon’s words, F stood for “Flipping Awesome”. Our site used most of the FusionHQ features (think Fusion Box, Custom Templates, Sales Funnel, Content Site, Membership Area, AutoResponder, Video Media, OTO, Upsell, Downsell, Opt-ins and Mailing Lists) as provided customised product to a sub-niche market (over 20 products) – more than any other team.
In the end, and amongst huge controversy, we were unfairly pipped at the post as Leon let another judge, James Brown, make the final decision. Every team, including the winners, came and told us how awesome we were and that they felt we should have won. It didn’t really matter though – it was the learning experience that was important. And the prize we missed out on – dinner that night with Leon and James – we would have been far too stuffed to get much out of it.
The wins for us out of the weekend: HalfTheWomanIWas.com membership site finally went live (password is in the book), we found a JV partner to work with on some new projects, we’re having lunch this week with a mighty impressed Leon, and we learned so much about how FusionHQ works that it’s going to propel our businesses massively.
